Executive Protection and Travel Security in Europe for US Clients
Why a US executive protection team cannot simply fly with you.
Every European country licenses private protection, and none of them recognise a US permit, a US firearms licence or a US company's insurance. Italy licenses officers through Prefettura-authorised institutes, France through the CNAPS, the United Kingdom through the SIA, Spain under Law 5/2014, and Morocco under Law 27-06. A US agent working a Milan street, a Paris hotel lobby or a Como wedding is unlicensed, uninsured and, in the wrong moment, the reason a visit ends early.
Algoz coordinates executive protection and travel security across Europe through officers licensed in each country, briefed by one coordinator against your itinerary, and run to the standard a US security director expects: advance work, written plan, named point of contact, a reply within hours. Your home team keeps the strategy. We provide the legal, insured presence on the ground.
- Officers licensed in the country where they work: GPG in Italy, CNAPS in France, SIA in the UK, Ministry of the Interior in Spain
- English-speaking as standard, NDA-bound, insured through the licensed company that employs them
- One coordinator for a multi-city itinerary, from the first airport to the last
- Security driver with an executive vehicle as the default US-visit model, second officer added for events
- Rates quoted in EUR, with an indicative USD figure alongside for visitors from outside Europe
- A person reads every message and replies, usually within two hours, on US hours as well as European
What US clients ask before they enquire.
Can my own agent work in Europe?
Not lawfully, and not insured. A US executive protection agent can travel with you as a member of staff and advise, but cannot act as a protection officer in Italy, France, the UK, Spain or Morocco. The licensed local officer does that work; your agent stays in the loop.
What does it cost in US terms?
Professional close protection in Western Europe starts from EUR 850 per day for one principal on twelve-hour cover, the market base. The USD equivalent moves with the exchange rate, which is why we quote in EUR and the figure on your proposal is final.
Can the officer be armed?
In Italy, France and Spain an armed detail is possible through specific licensed channels, needs about 30 days and may be refused; in the UK it is not available to private clients at all, and Morocco does not permit private armed protection. Most US visits are covered unarmed, correctly.
How fast can you start?
At least seven days for a programme, more for several cities or an armed element. Shorter notice is looked at honestly: under 48 hours carries an urgency fee and no guarantee. The right officer is worth the week.
Will the officer speak English?
Yes, as standard, on every page of this list. Italian, French, Spanish and Arabic are native by country; Russian, Portuguese and Mandarin are available with notice.
Who does the officer report to?
To the written plan agreed with you or your security director, through our coordinator. Daily or end-of-visit reports where you want them, nothing where you do not. Discretion is the product.
Executive protection and travel security for US visitors to Europe.

A close protection officer at the wheel of an executive saloon, SUV or V-Class: route planning, protected arrivals and departures, and no parking problem that becomes your problem.

Met inside the terminal at Malpensa, Fiumicino, Charles de Gaulle, Heathrow, Malaga or Marrakech Menara, fast track where it exists, luggage handled, vehicle at the door.
Villa and Residence Cover
Lake Como villas, Tuscan estates, Riviera houses and Marbella properties: access control, overnight presence and a gate that is actually watched.
Show Weeks, Galas and Weddings
Milan Fashion Week, Salone del Mobile, Monza, Cannes, Monaco, a Como wedding or a London gala: guest screening, protected movement and venue liaison.
Working with Your US Team
A named coordinator who speaks your security director's language, a written plan before arrival, and an officer who works to it.
Milan and Lake Como: the Italian entry point
Milan is where most US itineraries in Italy begin: a direct flight into Malpensa, a board meeting in Porta Nuova, a showroom in the Quadrilatero, and Lake Como an hour away for the weekend. The detail that works is a licensed GPG officer who knows the Quadrilatero doors, the Area C rules and the villa jetties, usually at the wheel of the vehicle so the arrival and the parking are one problem solved rather than two. Fashion Week, Salone del Mobile and the Monza Grand Prix are the weeks to book months ahead.
Bodyguard in MilanRome and Florence: history, crowds and distance
Rome rewards planning. The Vatican, the historic centre and the Via Veneto hotels sit in a city of narrow streets, closures and crowds, and the useful officer is the one who has walked the route before you. Florence is smaller and busier per square metre, with the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi funnelling visitors into places where a wallet or a watch is the easy target. In both cities we work with Prefettura-authorised institutes and a security driver who knows which gate opens.
Bodyguard in RomeParis and the Riviera: CNAPS licensing and a different rhythm
France licenses every protection officer individually, through the CNAPS, and the officer's card is what the police ask to see. Paris work is hotels, fashion houses, the Avenue Montaigne and the airports; the Riviera is Cannes in May, Monaco in late May and the villas of Cap Ferrat and Saint-Tropez in summer. US clients notice that the pace, the driving and the police posture are different from home. The officer is there so that none of it becomes your concern.
Bodyguard in ParisLondon: SIA licensing and an unarmed city
The United Kingdom runs a strict, well-policed licensing regime: every close protection officer carries an SIA licence, and no private detail is armed, ever. For a US principal that is a cultural adjustment and a practical one, because the work is done with planning, positioning and the quiet handling of arrivals rather than with a holster. Mayfair hotels, Knightsbridge, the City, Heathrow and the private aviation terminals are the daily ground.
Bodyguard in LondonMarbella and Spain: summer, villas and Law 5/2014
Spain regulates private security under Law 5/2014, with officers accredited by the Ministry of the Interior and employed through licensed companies. Marbella in July and August is a concentration of yachts, villas and late nights, and US families who summer there want residential cover, a security driver for the evenings and an officer who knows Puerto Banus by sight. Madrid, Barcelona and Ibiza follow the same model.
Bodyguard in MarbellaMarrakech and Morocco: the North African week
Marrakech is a short flight from Europe and a frequent add-on to a Spanish or French itinerary. Private security in Morocco is licensed under Law 27-06 through local companies, there is no private armed protection, and the medina and the Palmeraie villas need a different kind of advance work: gate agreements, measured walks from the car and a driver who knows the unmarked turning. We coordinate it from the same desk as your European legs.
Bodyguard in MoroccoHow your security director works with us
The relationship that works best is the one where your home team owns the strategy and we own the ground. Before arrival your security director receives a written plan: officer identities and licences, vehicle details, routes, hotel liaison, hospital and embassy references, and the escalation chain. During the visit they get a single coordinator reachable on US hours. After it, a report if wanted. Nothing is improvised and nothing is hidden from the people responsible for you at home.
How our close protection worksWhat it costs, in terms a US client recognises
Close protection in Western Europe starts from EUR 850 per day for a single principal on twelve-hour cover; a security driver with an executive vehicle is priced the same way, with the vehicle added. The USD equivalent is shown alongside for visitors from outside Europe at the day's rate, and moves with it. US clients sometimes expect a flat retainer or an hourly guard rate; what they receive here is a sworn, insured officer briefed against the itinerary, quoted once, in writing, for the whole programme.
What a bodyguard costsWhen US clients travel, and what it means for the detail.
Milan Fashion Week
The Quadrilatero and the show venues fill, hotels sell out, and the officers who know the backstage doors are committed weeks ahead. Book the detail with the flights.
Salone del Mobile
Design week brings the Rho fairground and the Fuorisalone districts to capacity. Executive transport with a security driver is the arrangement that keeps a buyer's day on schedule.
Cannes and Monaco
The film festival and the Grand Prix put the Riviera under pressure for three weeks. Road closures, credentials and jetty access are planned, not hoped for.
Como, the Riviera and Marbella
Villa season and wedding season. Residential cover, boats, late evenings and a driver who knows that the lake road is one lane in places.
Monza Grand Prix
The Italian Grand Prix moves a hundred thousand people through a park near Milan. Paddock access, the road in and the road out are the whole exercise.
St. Moritz, Courchevel and the cities
Alpine weeks over Christmas and New Year, then the quieter working calendar in Milan, Paris and London. Winter roads to the resorts need the right vehicle and driver.
Brief, plan, officers, visit, report.
The brief
Dates, cities, party, profile, what your home team already knows about the threat picture. Under NDA from the first message, and your security director is welcome on the call.
The written plan
Officers and licences, vehicles, routes, hotel liaison, medical and embassy references, escalation chain. Sent before anyone travels, amended until you are satisfied.
Officers matched
Licensed in each country on the itinerary, English-speaking, selected for the profile: a female officer for a family, a security driver for a working week, a small team for a public figure.
Arrival
Met inside the terminal, vehicle at the door, the first hotel already briefed. The visit starts calm.
The programme
One coordinator across every city, officers handing over cleanly at each border, the plan held when the diary moves.
Report
A short written account at the end if you want one, for your file or your security director's. Then nothing: no newsletter, no follow-up calls.
“A US detail is a standard, not a passport. The standard travels. The licence does not.”
What executive protection in Europe costs a US client.
Professional close protection in Italy, France, Spain and the UK starts from EUR 850 per day for a single principal on twelve-hour cover, with the final rate shaped by officer seniority, the threat picture, languages and the season, and confirmed in writing on enquiry with no obligation. A security driver with an executive vehicle is priced as close protection with the vehicle added; an armed detail, where lawful, is quoted separately and needs about 30 days.
We quote in EUR because that is the currency the officer is paid in; an indicative USD figure is shown alongside for visitors from outside Europe and moves with the rate. Multi-city programmes receive one figure for the whole itinerary. Under 48 hours' notice carries an urgency fee and no guarantee of cover. Payment by card or transfer, invoiced by Algoz FZ-LLC.
Send the dates. We reply with a figure.
A person reads every message and replies, usually within two hours and always within 24. No commitment, no obligation.
Send the itinerary. We send the plan.
Share your dates, cities and party, or have your security director write to us directly. You receive a written proposal with a final figure, usually within two hours and always within 24, confidential from the first message.

Fashion Week and the festivals
Milan, Cannes and Monaco with a small team: backstage doors, venue liaison, protected movement through crowds that know your face.
Family offices and security directors
A licensed, insured presence on the ground that reports to your plan, with the paperwork your compliance team will ask for.
A wedding on the lake
Guest screening, villa access, jetty and boat movement, and the photographers who were not invited kept where they belong.
