Spain

From the Castellana to the islands, handled directly.
One Country, Many Seasons

The country that hosts the world all year round.

No other European country runs so many seasons at once. Madrid works through winter while the Canaries hold summer; Marbella’s Golden Mile fills as the yachts reach Puerto Banús; Ibiza compresses a year of nightlife into twenty weeks; and San Sebastián quietly serves more Michelin stars per square metre than almost anywhere on earth. Spain rewards those who arrive with the right doors already open, and it exhausts those who try to organise it from a distance.

Algoz delivers VIP concierge and private security as one seamless programme across Spain: hotels and villas, reservations and access, executive transportation with security-trained drivers, and licensed close protection under Spanish law. One senior contact coordinates everything, for principals, families and the assistants who plan for them.

01 —

Madrid

The capital of Spanish power and increasingly of Latin American wealth. Suites at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz and Four Seasons Canalejas, tables at DiverXO and the private dining rooms of Salamanca, the Prado and Thyssen after hours, and El Clásico from a box at the Bernabéu. We run the city end to end: executive transportation, discreet close protection, and the introductions that make Madrid feel like your own city by the second visit.

02 —

Barcelona

Gaudí’s grid seen from above explains the city: ordered, dense, and busy every month of the year. We arrange private Sagrada Família and Casa Batlló visits before the doors open, terraces above Passeig de Gràcia, tenders from Port Vell and OneOcean, and F1 weekends at Montmeló. Barcelona’s crowds are its charm and its risk; our protection teams keep families comfortable in them without ever making a scene.

03 —

Ibiza & the Balearics

Twenty weeks that define the Mediterranean summer. Villas above Es Cubells and Cala Jondal, tables at the clubs that matter, tenders to Formentera for lunch at Juan y Andrea, and quiet anchorages the charts do not advertise. We handle the season’s two currencies, access and privacy, in equal measure: low-profile protection around the night economy and villas, and a concierge team that knows which doors open at 2am. Mallorca and its Puerto Portals circuit run on the same programme.

04 —

Marbella & the Costa del Sol

The most residential of Spain’s luxury markets: La Zagaleta and Sierra Blanca behind their gates, the Golden Mile between the Marbella Club and Puente Romano, and Puerto Banús where the yachts and the watches come out after dark. Much of our Costa del Sol work is year-round: villa security, school runs, household staffing and residential protection, joined each summer by charter arrivals and event details. The coast works beautifully when it is managed quietly.

05 —

The Canary Islands & Tenerife

Europe’s winter refuge, eight islands of volcanic coast and permanent spring. Tenerife’s Abama and Bahia del Duque estates, Lanzarote’s lava-field architecture, private catamarans between the islands, and Teide at sunrise with the road to yourselves. The Canaries are where northern European principals winter and Latin American families break their Atlantic crossings; we keep villas, boats, drivers and protection on permanent standby across the archipelago. Discover the islands in depth on our dedicated Tenerife and Canary Islands pages.

06 —

San Sebastián & the North

La Concha’s crescent, the old town’s pintxo bars, and a gastronomic density without rival: Arzak, Akelarre and Mugaritz within twenty minutes of each other. We secure the tables that book out months ahead, arrange txoko dinners inside private gastronomic societies, and extend the journey along the green coast: Bilbao and the Guggenheim, Rioja’s cellars an hour south, and the Cantabrian estates where old Spanish families still summer.

07 —

Private transportation, mainland and islands

Spain’s geography includes water, and so does our fleet planning. Chauffeured and armoured vehicles with security-trained drivers in every covered city, ferries and yacht transfers that move cars and households between the mainland and the Balearics, helicopter links from Barajas and Málaga, and private aviation into Ibiza, Tenerife and San Sebastián’s compact airfield. One itinerary, every leg pre-positioned, nothing left to the taxi rank.

08 —

Bodyguard & close protection in Spain

Spanish law is specific: personal protection is reserved to the licensed escolta privado, a category apart from ordinary security guards, carrying a TIP card issued by the Policía Nacional. Algoz coordinates exclusively with licensed Spanish partners, matches every detail to a written threat assessment, and supervises to one standard from Madrid to the islands. Protection here is unarmed as a rule and discreet by design: advance work, secure driving and route planning do most of the protecting. Read our close protection and doctrine pages for how the discipline works.

09 —

Vineyards & the countryside

Beyond the coasts lies the Spain that Spaniards keep for themselves. Private cellar tastings at the great houses of Rioja and Ribera del Duero, Priorat’s terraced slate by helicopter, olive harvests on Andalusian estates, and hilltop pueblos where lunch lasts until evening. We arrange the estates, the winemakers, the tables in their private dining rooms, and the drivers who know the last ten kilometres of dirt road, with an escape experience built around each season.

10 —

Genuine experiences, privately arranged

The Spain worth crossing the world for is rarely on sale to the public. Flamenco played for twelve guests in a Sevillian courtyard rather than a tourist tablao. A morning inside a ganadería among the fighting bulls with the breeder himself. Ferias entered through the right caseta, Semana Santa watched from a private balcony, paella cooked over orange wood by the family that has made it for four generations. Our concierges build these evenings person by person, with discretion as standard.

Also Across Spain

Wherever the diary leads.

South

Seville & Andalusia

The Alcázar before opening, Jerez’s sherry bodegas, and the white villages by private car.

Balearics

Mallorca

Deia and the Tramuntana, Puerto Portals, and fincas with olive groves older than the deeds.

East

Valencia

Calatrava’s City of Arts, the original paella country, and a marina built for superyachts.

Heritage

Granada & the Alhambra

Nasrid palaces at night, carmen houses in the Albaicín, and the Sierra Nevada an hour away.

North-West

Galicia & the Atlantic

Shellfish from the rías, pazos among the vines of Albariño country, and Santiago in private.

Ski

Baqueira-Beret

Spain’s royal ski resort in the Val d’Aran, with chalets and mountain guides arranged.

Good to Know

Concierge & Security in Spain: Frequently Asked Questions

Which parts of Spain do you cover?

Madrid and Barcelona as the urban hubs, Marbella and the Costa del Sol, Ibiza, Mallorca and the Balearics, the Canary Islands, San Sebastián and the Basque coast, plus Seville, Valencia, Granada, Galicia and Baqueira-Beret, with one point of contact across all of them.

Can a bodyguard in Spain be armed?

As a rule, no. Spanish law reserves personal protection to licensed escoltas privados, who work unarmed for private clients; armed protection exists only under specific ministerial authorisation tied to an accredited threat and is uncommon. Providers promising armed operatives on demand in Spain should be treated as a warning sign. Well-planned unarmed protection, advance work and secure driving are the professional standard.

Can you arrange El Clásico, ferias and major event access?

Yes. Boxes and hospitality at the Bernabéu and Camp Nou, invitations to the ferias of Seville and Málaga through the right casetas, Semana Santa balconies, MotoGP and F1 weekends, and gallery or fashion previews in Madrid and Barcelona, combined with cars and discreet security on the day.

Do you operate in the Canary Islands year-round?

Yes. The Canaries are a permanent part of our Spanish programme: villas and resort estates on Tenerife, inter-island boats and flights, drivers and protection on standby, and winter-season residencies arranged for families escaping the northern winter.

Can you organise private vineyard visits in Rioja and Ribera del Duero?

Yes. Private cellar tastings with the winemakers, vertical tastings of library vintages, harvest lunches at the estates and helicopter routings that combine two regions in a day, with cars and accommodation coordinated end to end.

How quickly can you deploy in Spain?

Concierge and transportation typically within 24 to 48 hours in Madrid, Barcelona and Marbella; protection details from 48 hours depending on the assessment. In August and during Ibiza season, earlier notice secures the best villas, berths and tables.

Do you support families relocating to Spain?

Yes. School searches and visits, villa and estate sourcing in La Zagaleta, Madrid and the islands, household staffing, residential security assessments and the administrative introductions that settle a family quickly.
