Executive Protection for Los Angeles Clients, Abroad and at Home
What a Los Angeles client gets from us, and what they do not.
Los Angeles travels with a different problem from New York. Its clients are more often recognized: in film, television, music, sport and the businesses around them. A recognizable face from Los Angeles in Paris during Fashion Week, in Cannes in May, in London in any week or in Rome on a quiet Tuesday meets a European crowd with phones, and Europe has no paparazzi industry on the Los Angeles scale but it has the same cameras in every hand. The Los Angeles detail that works on Rodeo Drive cannot legally work on Avenue Montaigne: every European country licenses protection locally and recognizes no California guard card, exposed firearms permit or US insurance. What we do is deliver the standard through officers licensed where you land, planned for the cameras rather than reacting to them, from one desk, on Pacific time.
Most Los Angeles clients book one of two things. A licensed security driver with an executive car, for the arrival at Rome, Paris or London, the shopping streets, the dinners and the late return, which covers most private trips. Or, for a recognizable principal, one senior officer dressed for the setting, moving with you rather than behind you, with advance work on the venues and the back doors and a second officer for the shows and the evenings, which covers Fashion Week, Cannes and a premiere. Not a visible team, which in Europe draws exactly the attention it is meant to prevent. We reply on Pacific time, in EUR with the USD beside it, and the proposal figure is final. At home, for the weeks in Beverly Hills, Bel Air and Malibu, the same desk coordinates licensed California partners. Send the itinerary; a person reads it the same morning, your morning.
- Officers licensed in each country you land in: GPG in Italy, CNAPS in France, SIA in the UK, Ministry of the Interior in Spain, licensed companies in the Gulf and Latin America
- Entertainment profiles planned for cameras: venue advance work, back doors, the hotel entrance that is not the lobby, the car at every door, one senior officer rather than a visible team
- A security driver with an executive vehicle as the default private booking, with a second officer for the shows, the festivals and the evenings
- Replies on Pacific time, usually within two hours and always within 24; the overnight from LAX is tracked and the arrival planned around it
- Proposal in EUR with an indicative USD figure beside it; payment by card including American Express, or transfer; the proposal figure is final
- At home: licensed California partners under BSIS rules for Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Malibu and the Westside, coordinated by the same desk
What Los Angeles clients ask before they book.
Can my Los Angeles security team come with me to Europe?
As staff and advisors, yes. As protection, no. Italy, France, the UK and Spain each license officers locally and recognize no California BSIS guard card, exposed firearms permit or US insurance. Your team writes the plan with us; the licensed local officer carries it out, and your head of security is welcome on every call.
How do you handle photographers in Europe?
By planning the day so they do not get the shot: the hotel entrance that is not the lobby, the restaurant with a back door, the car at every door, the museum before opening, and one senior officer dressed for the setting rather than a visible team, which in Paris or Rome draws the crowd it is meant to prevent. Europe has fewer professional photographers than Los Angeles and more phones.
What does it cost in dollars?
Close protection in Western Europe starts from EUR 850 per day for one officer on a twelve-hour block, with the executive vehicle added; a senior officer and advance work for a recognizable principal sit above the base. The indicative USD figure appears beside every EUR figure for visitors from the US. The proposal is in EUR and the figure on it is final.
Will you answer on Pacific time?
Yes. A person reads every message and replies usually within two hours and always within 24, on Pacific time as well as European. A message from Los Angeles at nine in the evening is answered the same night.
Do you meet the long flights from LAX?
Every one. LAX flies nonstop to Rome, Paris, London, Dubai and Doha, and the ten-hour overnight lands in the European afternoon or the Gulf evening. The flight is tracked, the officer is inside the terminal, and the hotel has been told a car is coming.
Do you cover Los Angeles itself?
Through licensed California partners, yes: Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Holmby Hills, Malibu and the Westside, with security drivers, residential cover and event work by BSIS-licensed officers, armed where the assessment and California law allow. The same desk coordinates home and abroad.
The services Los Angeles clients book most.
Protection for Recognizable Principals in Europe
One senior licensed officer, dressed for the setting, with venue advance work, back doors and a car at every door, for Paris, Milan, Cannes, London and Rome. A second officer for the shows and the evenings.
Security Driver in Rome, Paris and London
For the private trip rather than the public one: one licensed officer at the wheel of an executive car for the arrival, the shopping, the dinners and the late return.
Cannes, Venice and the Fashion Weeks
Credentials, road closures, jetty and red-carpet movement, the villa or the yacht, planned months ahead with the officers who know the doors.
Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha
Licensed officers and security drivers in the Gulf, where Los Angeles clients increasingly work and connect, coordinated from the same desk as Europe.
Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Malibu
Licensed California partners for drivers, residential cover, premieres and events, coordinated by the desk that already knows your profile.
The Rest of the Trip
Hotels with the right entrance, tables with the right door, access and the airport, handled by the team that holds the protection.
Why the Rodeo Drive detail stops at the jet bridge
A California executive protection agent holds a BSIS guard card, often an exposed firearms permit, and works for a licensed California company with California insurance. None of that has standing in Rome, Paris, London or Madrid. Italy licenses protection through Prefettura-authorized institutes and sworn GPG officers; France through the CNAPS, officer by officer; the United Kingdom through the SIA, and the police are entitled to ask; Spain under Law 5/2014. A Los Angeles agent working a Paris hotel lobby is unlicensed, uninsured and, if stopped, the reason a trip ends early. The model that works is the one we run: your head of security keeps the strategy and writes the plan with us, and we provide the officer who is legal, insured and English-speaking where you are. The standard travels. The license does not.
Executive protection in Europe for US clientsCameras: planning the day so the shot never happens
Europe has no paparazzi industry on the Los Angeles scale and it has a phone in every hand, which changes the method. A visible team in Paris or Rome creates the crowd it is meant to prevent; one senior officer dressed for the setting, moving with the principal rather than behind, does not. The work is in the plan: the hotel with an entrance that is not the lobby, the restaurant with a back door and a table out of the window line, the museum before opening, the boutique after closing, the car at every door so there is no walk, and the schedule that puts the principal in the obvious places at the hours nobody is there. For Fashion Week and Cannes the officers who know the backstage doors and the jetty are committed months ahead; we plan these weeks with the invitations, not the flights.
Bodyguard in ParisCannes, Venice, Milan and Paris: the festival and show calendar
Los Angeles goes to Europe for Cannes in May, Venice in September, and Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks in February and September, and each is a closed environment with credentials, road closures, red carpets, jetties, yachts and villas, and a thousand cameras pointed at the same door. The arrangement is one senior officer with the principal, a second for the carpet and the evenings, a security driver who knows which roads are closed at which hour, and advance work on every venue before the week begins. Licensed in France or Italy as the law requires, English-speaking, and dressed for the carpet. These weeks are planned months ahead and booked with the credentials.
Milan Fashion Week VIP protectionThe long flight from LAX, and the first hour on the ground
Los Angeles to Europe is ten hours and lands in the afternoon; to the Gulf it is sixteen and lands at night. LAX runs nonstop to Rome, Paris, London, Dubai and Doha, and the arrival hour is the one most trips get wrong: everyone carrying everything, a crowd offering taxis, a photographer who knew the flight number. We track the flight from departure, meet you inside the terminal, take the exit the crowd is not watching, count the luggage onto the car and drive you to a hotel whose security already knows a car is coming and which entrance to open. For a recognizable principal the arrival is the most photographed hour of the trip, and it is the easiest one to make quiet.
Is Paris safe for American tourists? The private trip: Rome, Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, Ibiza
Not every Los Angeles trip is public. For a family in a Tuscan villa, a couple in Rome, a group in Ibiza or a week on the Amalfi Coast, the booking is the one most Americans make: a licensed security driver with an executive car for the arrival, the days that matter and the evenings, with a second officer for a villa with staff you have not met or an evening that needs one. The officer is a licensed local who knows where to eat, parks where a visitor cannot, carries the bags on the shopping streets and is outside at two in the morning. For Los Angeles clients the private trip is often the one they value most, because for a week nobody knows who they are, and the officer is the reason it stays that way.
Private driver and bodyguard in RomeAt home: Beverly Hills, Bel Air and Malibu, from the same desk
A principal who is abroad four months of the year does not want two security relationships. For the weeks in Los Angeles we coordinate licensed California partners under BSIS rules: security drivers on the Westside, residential cover in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Holmby Hills and Malibu, premiere and event work, and armed officers where the assessment and California law allow. The desk that planned your Cannes knows your profile, your team and your standard, and the Los Angeles work runs to the same written plan. Our Los Angeles bodyguard and chauffeur pages describe the home service in detail.

Report
A short written account at the end for your file or your head of security's, if you want one. Then nothing: no newsletter, no follow-up calls.
“In Los Angeles the cameras find you. In Europe, with the right plan, they are pointed at the door you did not use.”
What executive protection abroad costs a Los Angeles client.
Professional close protection in Italy, France, Spain and the UK starts from EUR 850 per day for a single principal on twelve-hour cover, the market base, with the executive vehicle added as its own line. A recognizable principal needs a senior officer and advance work, and Cannes, Venice and the Fashion Weeks sit above the base; a private week with a security driver sits at it. A multi-city program receives one figure. The indicative USD figure appears beside each EUR figure for visitors from the US; the proposal and the invoice are in EUR and the proposal figure is final.
Allow seven days, and months for the festivals; under 48 hours carries an urgency fee and no guarantee. Payment by card, including American Express, or by transfer, invoiced by Algoz FZ-LLC. See also what a bodyguard costs in US dollars and executive protection in Europe for US clients.
