A royal household moving to London for the summer travels with a wardrobe, not a suitcase. Forty to a hundred and twenty pieces is ordinary: trunks for the gowns and the abayas, cases for each child, the staff's luggage, the medical kit, the gifts, the sports equipment and the things that only make sense once the house is open. An airline treats that as excess baggage and a problem. A courier company treats it as boxes. Neither has a person who knows the names on the tags, the floor of the hotel or the hour the principal lands.

Not a luggage shipping company
Luggage shipping firms sell boxes on a conveyor at a price per kilogram and a tracking number. We sell one coordinator who knows the household, collects with our own people, controls custody at every handover and delivers into the room. The price is higher and the luggage arrives with the family's dignity intact.
How much can be moved
From a single wardrobe trunk to the baggage of a hundred-person delegation. Large movements are split between the aircraft hold, cargo and road as the dates allow, with one manifest and one person answerable for all of it.
What travels this way
Clothing and wardrobe, shoes, children's items, prams, medical equipment, sports kit, gifts, documents, electronics and household goods. Jewellery, watches and cash travel separately by protected hand-carry, never in the hold.
What it costs
Quoted per movement, in writing, from the inventory, the route, the dates and whether an officer travels with the consignment. There is no price list because no two households travel alike. A protection officer with the consignment is priced as close protection, from EUR 850 per day.
How much notice
A week is comfortable for a planned move. Ramadan, Eid and the first weeks of the Gulf summer fill early; tell us as soon as the dates are known. Under 48 hours is possible with an urgency fee and no guarantee.
Who knows
No family name on a tag, no itinerary on an email chain. We work under NDA with the office of the household, the personal assistant or the tour manager, and the manifest is shared with the one person you name.

From the palace door to the hotel floor, without a carousel in between
The movement starts where the family lives. Our people arrive at the residence, the palace office or the hotel with the wardrobe trunks and the packing materials the inventory calls for, and work alongside the household staff or in their place. Each piece is counted, photographed, weighed and sealed with a numbered tag, and the manifest is agreed with one named person before anything leaves. From there the luggage travels by the route the dates allow: in the hold of the family's own flight as accompanied baggage, on an earlier flight with an officer, by air cargo or, inside Europe, by secure road. At the destination it is cleared, driven to the hotel and taken up the service lift to the floor, where the butler team unpacks if the family wishes. The principal lands, walks to the car and finds the wardrobe hanging.

Every June the Gulf moves to London, Paris, Geneva, Marbella and the Italian lakes, and every September it moves back. A household of twelve with staff travels with more luggage than a small hotel, on dates fixed by school terms and the weather in Riyadh, through airports that are at their busiest. We plan the baggage as its own operation: an advance consignment with the house linen, the kitchen and the children's rooms, the principals' wardrobe timed to the flight, and a return programme in September that collects from the London house, the Geneva apartment and the Marbella villa on different days and brings all of it home to the same hall. The office of the household speaks to one person throughout. Gifts for the visit, items bought in Europe and the pieces the house acquires over the summer are declared properly on the way back.

Film talent arrives in Cannes, Venice, Dubai or London for a premiere with gowns on loan from houses that want them back undamaged and photographed on one person only. We move the wardrobe between venues and hotels ahead of the artist, keep the stylist's manifest intact piece by piece, hold loaned pieces in custody between fittings and the red carpet, and return them to the house with the same paperwork they left with. Nothing is tagged with a name the press would recognise.

The routes we run most are the ones our clients fly most: Riyadh and Jeddah to London and Paris, Dubai and Abu Dhabi to London, Geneva and Milan, Doha to Paris and the Riviera, Kuwait to London and Marbella, and every one of them in reverse in September. On the Gulf side we collect from the residence and work with the household office and the airline's premium desk; in Europe we deliver to the Knightsbridge or Mayfair house, the Avenue Montaigne suite, the Geneva apartment, the Marbella villa or the Lake Como hotel, by the service entrance the hotel prefers. For arrivals into Dubai, Riyadh or Doha we run the same programme the other way, for European and American clients visiting the Gulf for the season, a wedding or a race weekend.

The part of luggage transportation that embarrasses a family is never the luggage; it is the customs desk. Personal effects move freely under the traveller's own allowance, but a hundred pieces, gifts of value, medicines, perfumes in quantity, hunting and sporting equipment, falconry kit, food, tobacco and anything new in its box are each a different conversation with customs on each side. We prepare the declarations before departure, use temporary admission where it applies, flag what should not travel this way at the inventory stage, and stand at the desk so that no one in the family ever does. Jewellery, watches, cash and the smaller valuables do not go into a hold at all; they travel with a licensed officer by protected hand-carry, on the same day if needed.

We move luggage the way we move art and jewellery, because for the people who book this service the contents are personal and the names are sensitive. Every piece is photographed and numbered at collection, sealed with a tamper-evident tag, and recorded on a manifest that never carries the family name. Each handover, to an aircraft, a bonded warehouse, a vehicle or a hotel, is signed against that manifest and reported to the one person you name, with a time and a photograph. Where the client asks, a licensed protection officer stays with the consignment throughout, so there are no handovers at all. If a seal is broken or a piece is missing, you know before the luggage reaches the hotel, not after.

A private jet solves the airport and creates a luggage problem of its own: a long-range aircraft carries a fraction of what a household travels with, and a VIP terminal has no carousel to lose it on, only a ramp. We work with the FBO and the operator to decide what flies with the family, what goes ahead on an earlier movement and what follows by cargo or road, so that the aircraft is never weighed down and the house is complete when the family arrives. For charter flights we coordinate the baggage manifest with the crew, and for the Royal and VIP terminals in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai and Doha we work with the handling agent so that the luggage leaves the residence and reaches the destination suite without passing through a commercial hall.

It starts with an inventory, not a quote. We ask for the dates, the two addresses, the number of people and a rough count of the pieces, then propose the route: accompanied, advance, cargo, road or a mixture. You receive one written figure covering collection, packing, carriage, customs, delivery and any officer involved, confirmed before anything moves. On the day our people collect, seal and sign; you receive a photograph of the sealed load and a time. At the destination the luggage is cleared, delivered and, if you wish, unpacked. The same coordinator runs the return in September, and the next season after that. Tell us the dates and the count, and the figure follows in writing, usually within two hours and always within 24.
