Can my Texas detail work abroad?
As staff and advisors, yes. As protection, no. The UK, Italy, France and Spain license officers locally, the Gulf states license protection through local companies, and none recognizes a Texas DPS commission, a Level IV license, a handgun license or US insurance. Close protection in Western Europe starts from EUR 850 per day for one officer on a twelve-hour block, with the executive vehicle added; Gulf bases are confirmed on inquiry. The indicative USD figure appears beside every EUR figure for visitors from the US. The proposal is in EUR and the figure on it is final.
What do Texas families actually book in Europe?

Why the Texas detail stops at the jet bridge
A Texas executive protection officer holds a DPS commission, often a Level IV personal protection officer license, a Texas handgun license and works for a licensed Texas company with Texas insurance. None of that has standing in London, Rome, Paris, Madrid, Dubai, Doha or Riyadh. The United Kingdom licenses protection through the SIA and the police are entitled to ask; Italy through Prefettura-authorized institutes; France through the CNAPS; Spain under Law 5/2014; and every Gulf state through licensed local companies under its interior ministry, with weapons a state matter. A Texas officer working a London hotel lobby is unlicensed and uninsured, and in the Gulf the consequences of a misunderstanding are more serious than a stop. A security driver with a car is the default booking for London and the family weeks; a second officer, residential cover by the night and the holiday resorts sit above the base; a multi-country program receives one figure.
