Close protection is a licensed activity almost everywhere we operate - the SIA in the United Kingdom, CNAPS in France, SIRA in Dubai, the TULPS in Italy (which licenses only the guarding of property), SuperVigilancia in Colombia, and the equivalent in each market. Algoz coordinates only locally licensed, vetted, NDA-bound operatives, which is what keeps your detail lawful and discreet.

Is it legal to hire a private bodyguard?

Yes. Close protection is legal and regulated in the markets Algoz covers. Operatives must be licensed by the local authority - the SIA in the UK, CNAPS in France, SIRA in Dubai, SuperVigilancia in Colombia, and so on. Algoz coordinates only licensed, vetted operatives, so your detail is fully compliant.

How much does close protection cost?

It depends on the market, the operative profile and the hours of cover. As a guide, a single officer starts from EUR 950 per day in Europe, GBP 850 in the UK, CHF 1,000 in Switzerland, USD 850 in the US, AED 2,800 in the UAE, USD 1,200 in Turkey (eight-hour day), USD 1,400 in Japan, USD 1,200 in South East Asia and USD 750 elsewhere - for a single principal on twelve-hour cover; the final rate depends on the profile, the threat picture and the location. What does a day rate include?

The standard close protection day rate is built around a twelve-hour operational window and covers on-task time, preparation and professional availability. Accommodation, flights, per diem and vehicle provision are billed separately, and matter most on longer international assignments.

How much notice do you need to mobilise?

At least seven days. That is what a properly run assignment needs: the brief vetted, the right officer assigned and freed from other commitments, and the advance work on routes, venues and access completed before you land. Shorter notice is handled case by case, but under 48 hours means an urgency fee and no guarantee of cover. No licensed officer is summoned in 24 hours. Shorter notice is looked at case by case in established markets. Armed protection, where lawful, requires a minimum 30-day lead time for authorisation.

Can your operatives be armed?

Only where the law allows and the brief justifies it. Many markets - including the UK and much of Europe - are unarmed by default. Where armed cover is lawful, it is arranged through licensed providers with the required authorisation and a minimum 30-day lead time.

Do you provide female bodyguards?

Yes. Female close protection officers are available in most markets and are often the right choice for female principals, family assignments and fashion or entertainment environments.

Will the protection be discreet?

Yes. Discretion is the core of our service. Operatives are low-profile and often indistinguishable from a personal assistant or driver. The aim is for protection to be felt by you and noticed by no one else.

Are your operatives vetted, and is my privacy protected?

Every operative is background-checked, locally licensed and NDA-bound. Your enquiry and engagement are confidential from the first message and remain so indefinitely.

Can I choose the operative?

In most cases, yes. With sufficient notice we match the profile to you - language, gender, cultural fluency and specialism - and you are usually offered a choice. It cannot override our professional security assessment, which always takes precedence.

Do you also arrange transport and concierge?

Yes. Close protection can be combined with secure transport - a Mercedes S-Class for an individual or couple, a V-Class for a group, with a security-trained driver - and full concierge, all coordinated by one team and one point of contact.

Which countries and cities do you cover?

Algoz coordinates licensed protection across Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and Asia, from London, Paris, Monaco and Milan to Dubai, Cairo, Rio de Janeiro and beyond. If a destination is not on the site, ask - our network extends well past the published pages.

Do you work with retainers for frequent travellers?

Yes. Clients who travel often hold trusted operatives on a retainer, typically at a 10 to 20 percent discount to equivalent day rates, in exchange for guaranteed availability and priority mobilisation.

Can you pay in cryptocurrency?

No. Algoz settles close protection, concierge and transport by card or bank transfer only.
