A private instructor who travels with you, explained.

Most private clients do not want a lesson. They want a person: a ski instructor who takes the family for the whole season in St. Moritz, a scuba instructor who flies with them to Raja Ampat and runs every dive, a polo professional who plays in their team at the tournament and schools the horses in between, a golf coach who walks the course at St Andrews and comes back for the summer in the Hamptons. Algoz provides that person, selected for the sport, the level, the language and the temperament, and places them inside the same plan that already runs the house, the travel and the protection.

Every instructor is certified in their discipline by the recognised body for it, checked by us against that body, interviewed, and bound by NDA before a name is shared. Send the sport, the dates, the destination and who is learning: you receive profiles to choose from and one written figure.

  • Instructors certified by the recognised body for their sport, verified by Algoz with that body
  • Private lessons and full courses, from first day to certification, for adults and children
  • An instructor based with you for a season in Courchevel, St. Moritz, Gstaad, Verbier or Aspen
  • A dive, ski or riding professional who travels on your itinerary and runs every day in the water, on the snow or in the saddle
  • Competition support: a polo pro in your team, a caddie and coach at a pro-am, a tactician for a regatta
  • Consultancy on horses, boats, equipment and where to go, from people who do it for a living
Straight Answers

Private sports instructors: the first questions.

Who

Who are they?

Working professionals: national ski school instructors, dive instructor trainers, former competition riders and polo players, teaching golf professionals, sailing coaches with regatta results, tennis coaches who travelled the tour. Each is certified in their discipline and chosen for a specific brief, not pulled from a list.

Cost

What it costs

An instructor is quoted per day, per week or per season, plus travel and accommodation when they come with you. Competition support and consultancy are quoted to the brief. You receive one written figure before you commit, with no obligation, and we say when a resort school or a local pro is the honest answer.

Speed

How fast

At least seven days for a private lesson programme in a resort. Seasons, expeditions and competitions are planned months ahead because the best people are booked by their regulars. Under 48 hours carries an urgency fee and is not guaranteed.

Children

For children too?

Yes, and it is the most frequent brief: a ski instructor for the children every morning of the holiday, a swimming and freediving coach for the summer, a riding instructor at the house. Instructors for children are chosen for patience and language first, and checked accordingly.

Protection

With or without protection?

Either. Many families already use our close protection; the instructor then works inside that plan, briefed by the same coordinator. A mountain guide, a dive professional and a security driver on one itinerary is a normal Algoz week.

Where

Where we cover

Where you go. The Alps and the Rockies, the Red Sea, the Maldives and Indonesia, Sotogrande, Windsor and Palermo for polo, St Andrews and the Algarve for golf, the Mediterranean for sailing, Dubai in winter. See private travel.

What We Provide

The sports and the people.

Snow

Ski and Snowboard Instructors, Mountain Guides

Private instructors for a day, a week or the whole season in Courchevel, St. Moritz, Gstaad, Verbier, Zermatt, Aspen and Niseko; mountain guides for off-piste and heli-skiing; ski touring and the family week planned around who can ski what. See Courchevel and St. Moritz.

Water

Scuba Instructors and Dive Guides

PADI, SSI, GUE, TDI and CMAS instructors, from a first course in the villa pool to technical, rebreather and cave training in the cenotes. A dive professional who travels with you, dives every dive, manages the boat and the equipment, and knows the Red Sea, the Maldives, Raja Ampat, the Galápagos and the Seychelles. See the Maldives.

Breath

Freediving Coaches

Breath-hold, equalisation and depth taught safely by AIDA and PADI Freediver instructors, in Dahab, the Mediterranean, the Bahamas or your own pool. For spearfishing, for the yacht, for the confidence of swimming the reef without a tank.

Horses

Polo Professionals and Riding Instructors

A polo pro who rides in your team at Sotogrande, Windsor, Dubai or the snow polo at St. Moritz, schools the string and advises on horses. Riding, dressage and show-jumping coaches at the house or at the yard, for adults and children.

Green

Golf Coaches and Playing Professionals

A teaching professional for the week, a playing professional for the pro-am, a coach who walks St Andrews, Valderrama, Pebble Beach or the Emirates Golf Club with you and builds a programme around your season rather than a lesson around their diary.

More

Sailing, Tennis, Padel, Motorsport, Fitness

A tactician for the regatta, a tennis or padel coach who travels for the summer, a racing driver for track days, a mountaineering guide, a surf or kitesurf coach, a personal trainer or physiotherapist who joins the itinerary. Ask; the network is wide.

01 —

A season in the Alps

The most requested shape of this service is the season: an instructor based with the family in Courchevel, St. Moritz, Gstaad or Verbier from December to April, skiing with the children every morning, with the parents when they want, and with guests when they arrive. The instructor knows the mountain, the lift at eight, the restaurant that holds a table at one, and the days when the weather says stay down. Housing, insurance, the resort permit and the cover for the instructor's days off are ours to arrange, so what the family sees is one person who is always there. See Courchevel.

02 —

A dive professional who travels with you

A good dive instructor at a resort is a lottery. A dive professional who travels with you is a plan: they fly with the family, check the boat, the tanks and the guides at the destination, run every dive at the family's level, take the photographs, and when the trip moves from the Maldives to Raja Ampat or from the Red Sea to the Seychelles, they move with it. Our instructors hold PADI, SSI, GUE, TDI or CMAS ratings, several as instructor trainers, and teach from the first open water course to technical diving, trimix and rebreathers, wrecks, and cave diving in the cenotes of the Yucatán, with the certification issued by the agency itself. See yacht charter for the boat side.

Freediving, taught properly

Freediving is the sport that most rewards a real instructor and most punishes an improvised one. Our coaches are AIDA and PADI Freediver instructors, some with Molchanovs and SSI ratings, who teach breath-hold, equalisation and depth in a progression from the first level to the instructor course, with safety on every dive and no pressure to go deeper than the body says. In Dahab, Villefranche, Amorgos, the Bahamas or the pool of the villa. For the yacht owner who wants to swim the reef without a tank, the spearfisher, and the teenager who saw a video.

Polo and the equestrian calendar

Polo is the sport where the professional is part of the game: a pro who rides in your team, brings or schools the string, and tells you honestly which horses to buy and which to sell. We place polo professionals for a tournament, a season or a trip to Argentina, at Sotogrande, Windsor, Deauville, Dubai and the snow polo in St. Moritz, and riding, dressage and show-jumping coaches at the house or the yard for the family. See St. Moritz.

St. Moritz
05 —

Golf, the course and the pro-am

A golf professional for a week at the house, a coach who travels for the season between Sotogrande, the Algarve, the Emirates and Scotland, or a playing professional for the pro-am who makes the day a pleasure rather than a trial. The brief is built around your calendar and the courses you actually play. Tee times, memberships and the right caddie are the concierge side of the same plan. See Dubai for the winter season.

Dubai
06 —

Tennis and padel, wherever the summer is

A tennis coach who travels for the summer is the quiet luxury of a family with a court: the children's hour every morning, the parents' hitting session before lunch, a sparring partner who can actually play, and a programme that follows the family from the house in Marbella to the yacht in Sardinia and the winter in Dubai. Our coaches have taught on the tour or at the academies, and padel coaches are placed the same way for the courts at the club or the villa. See villas and properties.

07 —

Sailing, the regatta and the owner at the helm

For the owner who wants to race rather than be driven: a sailing coach and a tactician for the regatta week at Porto Cervo, Saint-Tropez, Palma or Cowes, a crew built around the owner's level, and a season planned around the events worth entering. For the family, a sailing instructor at the house or on the yacht for the children, from the first dinghy to the first offshore passage. See yacht charter and Porto Cervo.

Porto Cervo
08 —

Consultancy and competition support

Beyond lessons: a sailing tactician and crew for a regatta week, advice from a professional before you buy a horse, a boat or a set of equipment, a coach who plans the year around the events you want to enter, a mountaineering guide who tells you which peak and which month. The people who do these sports for a living are the only honest source on how to do them well, and we put them at your table under NDA. See private travel.

All year

Consultancy

Buying a horse, a string, a boat or a dive setup, planning a competition year, choosing a resort for the family: advice from the people who do it, at any time, under NDA.

How It Works

Brief, profiles, plan, instructor.

Step 01

The brief

The sport, the level, who is learning, the dates and the destination, and whether the instructor travels with you or meets you there. Under NDA before any name is shared.

Step 02

Profiles

Two or three instructors matched to the brief: certification checked with the body that issued it, languages, references, temperament for children or for competition. You choose.

Step 03

The plan

Housing, travel, insurance, permits where a resort requires them, equipment, the boat or the horses, and the days off covered. One written figure.

Step 04

Integration

If the family already has an Algoz coordinator, driver or protection detail, the instructor is briefed into the same plan and reports to the same contact.

Step 05

The programme

Lessons, the season, the expedition or the tournament, run at the family's pace, with the certification or the result at the end where one is wanted.

Step 06

One contact

One coordinator for the instructor, the house, the travel and everything around the sport, in your language, for the whole engagement.

Excellence, Discreetly Delivered

“The right instructor does not give you a lesson. They give you the sport, for as long as you want it, wherever you happen to be.”

Algoz Group
Indicative Investment

What a private instructor costs.

A private instructor is quoted per day, per week or per season, on the instructor's professional rate for the discipline and the level, plus travel and accommodation when they come with you. A season in the Alps is quoted as a programme; a dive professional on a two-week itinerary as a journey; a polo pro for a tournament to the tournament. Competition support and consultancy are quoted to the brief.

You receive one written figure before you commit, with no obligation. We tell you when the resort school, the club pro or the dive centre is the honest answer, and we only place a travelling professional where the brief justifies one. See private travel and escape experiences.

Winter 2026 and Summer 2027

Send the sport and the dates.

Season instructors for the Alps are matched in September and October, and the dive, polo and golf professionals who travel are booked by their regular families months ahead. Tell us the sport, who is learning, the dates and the destination, and we reply with profiles and one figure, under NDA from the first message.

Good to Know

Private Sports Instructors: Frequently Asked Questions

Which sports do you provide private instructors for?

Skiing and snowboarding, mountain and heli-ski guiding, scuba diving, freediving, polo, riding, dressage and show-jumping, golf, sailing, tennis and padel, motorsport and track driving, mountaineering, surf and kitesurf, and fitness and physiotherapy. If a sport is practised seriously by private clients, we have placed or can place a professional for it.

Can the instructor travel with us rather than meet us at the resort?

Yes, and that is the point of the service. A dive professional who flies with the family and runs every dive, a ski instructor who moves from Courchevel to Aspen with you, a polo pro who travels to Argentina for the season. Travel and accommodation are quoted with the instructor, and the instructor works inside the same plan as the rest of the journey.

Can we have a ski instructor for the whole season in Courchevel or St. Moritz?

Yes. The season instructor is the most requested shape of this service: based with the family from December to April, skiing with the children every morning and with the adults and guests when wanted. We arrange the housing, the insurance, any resort permit and the cover for days off. Season instructors are matched in September and October; by November the best are gone.

How are instructors vetted?

Each is certified in their discipline by the recognised body for it, and we check that certification with the body, not with the instructor. We interview them, take references from families or clubs they have worked with, check their background, and bind them by NDA before any name or address is shared. Instructors for children are selected for patience and language first.

Can you provide instructors for children?

Yes, and it is the most frequent brief. A ski instructor every morning of the holiday, a swimming and freediving coach for the summer, a riding instructor at the house, a tennis coach for the teenagers. Children's instructors are chosen for temperament and for the child's language, and the parents meet them before the first lesson.

Do you provide polo professionals who play in our team?

Yes. A polo pro who rides in your team at a tournament, schools the string between chukkas, advises on which horses to buy and sell, and travels for a season at Sotogrande, Windsor, Deauville, Dubai, the snow polo in St. Moritz or Argentina. The pro is matched to your handicap and the level of the tournament.

Do your dive instructors issue real certifications?

Yes. Our dive professionals are instructors, and in several cases instructor trainers, with PADI, SSI, GUE, TDI and CMAS, and a course taught on your yacht or at your villa ends in the same certification as a course at a dive centre. The difference is that the course is built around you, and the instructor stays for the diving that follows.

Is freediving safe to learn privately?

It is safer to learn privately with a certified freediving instructor than in a group, because safety in freediving is one to one by nature: a trained person watches every dive. Our coaches teach a progression of breath-hold, equalisation and depth and never push beyond what the body says that day. The sport should never be practised alone, and our instructors say so.

Can the instructor work alongside our security detail?

Yes. Many families already use our close protection, and the instructor is then briefed into that plan by the same coordinator: the mountain guide, the dive professional and the security driver on one itinerary with one contact is a normal Algoz week. Where a family brings its own protection team, we brief the instructor to it.

What does a private instructor cost?

Instructors are quoted per day, per week or per season on their professional rate for the discipline and the level, plus travel and accommodation when they come with you. Competition support and consultancy are quoted to the brief. You receive one written figure before you commit, and we tell you when the resort school or the club pro is the honest answer.

How much notice do you need?

At least seven days for a private lesson programme at a resort or at the house. A season, an expedition or a tournament is planned months ahead, because the professionals who travel are booked by their regular families early. Under 48 hours carries an urgency fee and is not guaranteed.

Do you advise on buying horses, boats or equipment?

Yes. Consultancy is part of the service: a polo professional before you buy a string, a sailing coach before you buy a boat, a dive instructor on the setup for the yacht, a golf professional on a membership. The advice is independent, under NDA, and we take no commission on what you buy.

Which languages do instructors speak?

English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian and Arabic are the languages most often requested, and the instructor is matched to the language of the person learning, especially for children. Tell us the language in the brief.

Why Algoz rather than booking a resort school or a freelance instructor?

Because a resort school gives you whoever is free, and a freelance instructor found online gives you a certification you cannot check and a person who has not signed anything. Algoz selects for the brief, verifies with the certifying body, binds by NDA, arranges the housing, travel and insurance, and puts the instructor inside the same plan as the house, the travel and the protection, with one contact in your language.
