Private Yacht Charter in Dubai, from Operators We Have Used
Why the operator matters more than the boat, and how we choose.
Dubai has one of the largest charter fleets in the world, moored in Dubai Marina and Dubai Harbour, and a visitor who books from a photograph on a marketplace learns what the photograph did not show: the boat that is ten years older than the picture, the crew who speak no language the party speaks, the vessel that leaves forty minutes late because the previous charter ran over, the food that was a platter from a supermarket, the licence that nobody checked. Condition, crew, licensing and punctuality vary more widely in this market than in any we work in, and the price per hour says nothing about any of them.
We charter only from operators we have used ourselves, with boats we have been on and crews we know. The sunset cruise from the Marina past the Palm and the Burj Al Arab, the day at the World Islands or in the Palm lagoon, the chef on board who turns the cruise into a dinner, the birthday for forty with a DJ, the proposal for two with nobody else aboard, the superyacht for a week with its own crew: each booked to the party and the occasion, from the operator that fits, with the car to the marina and home arranged by the same desk. In your language: English, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese, Spanish, French or Italian. Send the date, the party and the occasion; the boat and the plan come back within a day.
- Operators we have used, boats we have been on, crews we know: condition, licensing, punctuality and language checked before your name is on a booking
- The route that fits the hour: the sunset cruise past the Palm and the Burj Al Arab, the day at the World Islands, the Palm lagoon for swimming
- A chef on board when the cruise should be a meal: dinner for two, lunch for twelve, a buffet for forty, menus written to the party
- Occasions arranged as one: the birthday with a DJ and a cake, the proposal with nobody else aboard, the corporate afternoon with a plan
- Superyachts for the day or the week with their own crew, and the paperwork handled
- The car to the marina and home, the table after, the rest of the stay, booked by the same desk in your language
What visitors ask about chartering a yacht in Dubai.
Where does a Dubai yacht go?
The classic is the sunset cruise from Dubai Marina or Dubai Harbour: out past JBR and Bluewaters, along the Palm, to the Burj Al Arab and Atlantis, and back as the lights come on. A day charter goes to the World Islands or anchors in the Palm lagoon for swimming. The Burj Khalifa is seen from the water on the Marina skyline, not from a canal; we tell you honestly what each route shows.
How long should the charter be?
Two hours is the sunset; three is the sunset with a swim and a dinner; a day is six to eight hours with lunch, the World Islands and the lagoon. Most operators set a two- or three-hour minimum. We book the hours to the plan, not the plan to the minimum, and we say when two hours is enough.
Can we have a chef on board?
Yes, and it is the detail guests remember: a private chef on board who cooks to the party, a dinner for two at sunset, a lunch for twelve at anchor, a buffet for forty for a birthday, with menus written in advance and the dietary rules respected. Our private chefs in Dubai cook on the water and at the villa.
What does it cost?
The boat is quoted by the hour or the day to the vessel, the date and the party, from the operator we choose, passed through at cost; the chef, the DJ, the decoration and the transfers are their own lines, and our fee is shown separately. One figure in EUR, with the USD beside it for visitors from the US. Weekends in the season and New Year cost more and sell out early.
Can you arrange a birthday or a proposal on a yacht?
Yes. A birthday for forty with a DJ, decoration, a chef and a cake; a proposal for two with nobody else aboard, the chef, the flowers and the hour the light is right; a corporate afternoon with a plan and a return time. We book the occasion as one, not the boat and a list of extras.
What are the rules on a yacht in Dubai?
Alcohol is served aboard licensed charter vessels and not in public; swimwear is for the deck and the water, not the marina walk; the captain decides on weather and the sea, and in the shamal wind of late spring some days do not go out. Children wear life jackets. We explain the rest before you board.

How we choose the operator, and why it matters more than the boat
A Dubai charter marketplace lists hundreds of boats, and the photographs are the least reliable thing about them. We choose the operator before the boat: a company licensed by the Dubai maritime authority, boats we have been on and seen maintained, crews who turn up on time and speak a language the party speaks, a kitchen that is a kitchen, and a record of leaving when the booking says. Then we choose the boat for the party: a sports yacht for a couple, a flybridge for a family of eight, a party boat for forty with the deck for it, a superyacht for the week. The price per hour is the last thing we look at, because a cheap boat that leaves late and smells of the last charter costs the evening.
Plan the whole Dubai tripThe sunset cruise: Marina, the Palm, the Burj Al Arab, and back as the lights come on
The evening that makes a Dubai trip leaves the Marina an hour and a half before sunset. Out past the towers of JBR and the wheel at Bluewaters, along the outer crescent of the Palm with Atlantis at its tip, to the sail of the Burj Al Arab as the light goes gold, and back as the Marina lights come on, with the skyline and the Burj Khalifa behind it. Two hours shows it; three adds a swim off the Palm and a dinner from the chef aboard. For a couple it is the evening; for a family it is the photograph; for a group it is the party. We book the hour to the sunset of your date, the boat to the party, and the car to the marina and home.
Private guide and driver in DubaiA chef on board: when the cruise should be a dinner
The difference between a yacht and a yacht with a chef is the difference between a boat ride and an evening. Our private chefs cook aboard: a dinner for two at sunset with a menu written for the occasion, a lunch for twelve at anchor in the lagoon, a buffet for forty for a birthday, an Emirati-inspired table for a visitor who wants the Gulf on a plate, the dietary and halal rules respected without being asked twice. The same chefs cook at the villa the night after, so a week can run from the water to the house with one kitchen. Our private chef desk in Dubai writes the menu with the charter.
Private chef in DubaiBirthdays, proposals and the corporate afternoon
A birthday on the water is the Dubai party, and the boats for forty exist for it: a deck for the DJ, a chef and a buffet, decoration, a cake, the guest list managed at the marina and the cars arranged for the end. A proposal wants the opposite: a boat for two with nobody else aboard, the chef, the flowers, the hour the light is right off the Burj Al Arab, and a photographer who was not noticed until after. A corporate afternoon wants a plan, a return time, a boat the whole team fits on and a desk that answers the phone. We book each as one occasion rather than a boat and a list of extras, and the reservations desk holds the table for after.
Restaurant reservations and nightlife in DubaiSuperyachts and the week afloat
For a week rather than an evening, Dubai Harbour and the Marina hold superyachts with their own crew, and the charter becomes a programme: the itinerary written with the captain, the days along the coast and at the islands, the nights at anchor or in the marina, the provisioning, the chef, the water toys, the paperwork for the vessel and the guests. We arrange it with the operator and the captain, brief the crew on the party and the standard, and run the shore side from the same desk: the cars, the tables ashore, the beach clubs, the dive at Deep Dive Dubai on the day the sea is flat. The worldwide yacht desk covers the Mediterranean summer with the same model.
Luxury yacht charter worldwideThe sea, the season and the days that do not go out
Dubai's water is at its best from October to April, warm and usually calm, with the sunset earlier in winter and the Marina busy on weekends. Summer is hot on deck but the mornings and the nights are beautiful, and the boats are easier to book. The shamal, a north-westerly wind in late spring, closes some days: the captain decides, and a good operator calls it early rather than at the dock. New Year on the water, with the Burj Al Arab and the Palm fireworks, is sold months ahead and worth it. We book to the sea as much as to the calendar, and we say when a date should move.
