Bodyguard in the Canary Islands
Protection that crosses the water with you.
The Canaries are unlike any other Spanish deployment: eight islands a thousand kilometres from the mainland, moving clients between villas, resorts, yachts and inter-island flights, with each island keeping its own geography and rhythm. Protection here is a logistics discipline as much as a security one.
Algoz coordinates licensed Spanish teams across the whole archipelago, from Tenerife’s resort coast and Gran Canaria’s capital to Lanzarote’s villa country and the quiet of La Gomera, so a family’s island-hopping itinerary keeps one plan, one standard and one point of contact throughout, integrated with our island concierge programme.
Eight islands, distinct exposures.
Inter-Island Movement
Ferries, tenders, helicopters and island airfields that each need secure handling and continuity of cover.
Remote Villa Exposure
Isolated estates on volcanic hillsides with holiday staffing and limited natural surveillance.
Resort & Beach Visibility
Dense five-star corridors where recognisable guests are easily photographed and tracked.
Yacht & Crossing Stopovers
Marinas serving Atlantic crossings and charters, with tender runs and crew turnover to manage.
Carnival & Festival Crowds
Santa Cruz and Las Palmas carnivals, regattas and fiestas that fill streets for weeks.
Opportunistic Crime
Watch and valuables theft around beaches, viewpoints and rental properties in season.
The whole archipelago, covered.
Spanish-Licensed Officers
TIP-accredited escoltas on every covered island, fluent in English and Spanish.
Villa & Residential Security
Access control, overnight presence and season-long residential coverage on any island.
Island-Hopping Details
Continuous protection across multi-island itineraries, with teams and vehicles pre-positioned ahead.
Yacht Coordination
Marina access, tender logistics and crew liaison for owners, charters and Atlantic stopovers.
Airport & Port Transfers
Secure arrivals at every island airport and port, with security-trained drivers throughout.
"A family should be able to change islands on a whim. The plan, the team and the standard simply move with them."
Protection across all eight islands.
Share your islands, your dates and your itinerary, and we will coordinate discreet protection across the archipelago.
EnquireWhy protection in the Canaries must be licensed.
The Canary Islands are Spanish territory, and mainland rules apply in full: private security is governed by Ley 5/2014 de Seguridad Privada, and a personal protection officer (escolta privado) must hold the official professional card (TIP) issued by the Ministry of the Interior. Armed escort is permitted only for accredited escoltas under strict conditions and is uncommon for private clients.
Algoz coordinates protection across the islands exclusively through this licensed framework, with every operative TIP-accredited, NDA-bound and discreet. See how our close protection works, start from our Tenerife protection page, add island concierge and secure transport, or extend to Madrid and Marbella.
What protection in the Canaries costs.
As a guide, professional close protection in Spain is, in 2026, typically USD 550–850 per day for a single principal on twelve-hour cover, with the final rate confirmed on enquiry and no obligation. Multi-island itineraries, specialist profiles, short-notice mobilisation and Carnival or peak winter season carry a premium. Read our full close protection pricing guide, how a security driver works, and how modern close protection is run.

Protecting celebrities & public figures
Actors, musicians, athletes, royals and the people the world recognises — celebrity protection is its own discipline: anti-paparazzi strategy, leak-proof operations, crowd and stalker management, and details that switch from red carpet to invisible in the same day.
