Traffic is the city’s one honest adversary - the rodízio plate-rotation scheme restricts cars by number plate on weekdays, which is one more reason professional fleets and helicopters carry the diary here. Seasons run opposite to the northern hemisphere: summer rains arrive around the turn of the year, and the mild winter months bring the famous garoa drizzle.
