Venice is the only city in the world where executive transportation requires a seamless handover between road and water. There are no cars in Venice — the island city is navigated entirely by foot and boat. This means that every transfer involving the historic centre involves two modes: a Mercedes on the mainland or at the airport, and a private water taxi or motoscafo within the lagoon. The handover point — Piazzale Roma, the Tronchetto car park island, or the private water entrance of the Aman Venice on the Grand Canal — must be coordinated precisely between the land vehicle and the boat.

Private Speedboat & Motoscafo
The Venice prestige transfer is the private speedboat. Grand Canal arrivals at the water steps of Aman, Cipriani or a private palazzo are an experience entirely unavailable in any other city. We coordinate this as part of every VIP programme.
Armoured Vehicles
For the mainland leg of a Venice transfer, B6-rated armoured vehicles are available. Venice’s island geography means armoured transport is necessarily limited to Mestre, the airport and trans-Veneto corridors.
FBO & Private Terminal Transfers
Marco Polo (VCE) has a private terminal facility, and Nicelli Airport on the Lido (VNE) offers direct island access for propeller and light jets — the only airport on the Venice island itself. Both are covered.

Venice Marco Polo (VCE) is the main international gateway on the mainland, 13 km north of Piazzale Roma. Treviso Antonio Canova (TSF) is 30 km northwest, used primarily for charter and low-cost traffic but increasingly for private charters during peak seasons. Nicelli Airport (VNE) on the Venice Lido — one of Europe’s oldest aeronautical sites — accepts light aircraft and propeller planes and places you on the lagoon island itself, removing the Piazzale Roma handover entirely. Algoz manages all three. For VCE and TSF, Mercedes meets at the terminal and the boat is pre-positioned at Piazzale Roma’s private water taxi pontoon. For VNE, a dedicated vehicle or boat meets on the Lido and transfers directly to your hotel watergate.

Venice presents a security environment unlike any other European city. The absence of vehicular access on the island means that conventional close-protection vehicle formations are impossible within the historic centre; principals move on foot and by boat, creating different exposure vectors. Our close-protection team coordinates boat movements with the same rigour applied to motorcades elsewhere — pre-cleared canal routes, private water-entry points at Aman and Cipriani, and discrete crowd management at Film Festival red-carpet arrivals on the Lido. For mainland movements at Mestre and Marco Polo, standard CP-integrated vehicle protocols apply in full.
