Courchevel Altiport CVF sits at 2,008 metres — Europe’s highest commercial airstrip — with an 18.5% gradient approach on a 537-metre sealed strip. Only STOL-capable aircraft such as the Pilatus PC-12 and TBM series can operate here, and the field is strictly seasonal from December through April. For principals arriving on mid-size or large-cabin jets, Geneva GVA is the primary gateway: a 2-hour drive via the A41/E25 Autoroute Blanche through Annecy, operated in mountain-equipped Range Rovers and BMW X7s with full ski luggage capacity. Chambéry CMF offers a 1-hour run via the A43 and suits turboprop or light jet arrivals. Lyon LYS is a 2.5-hour option for commercial connections.
